Aesthetic Therapist Job Spec

 

Role and key responsibilities:

 

  • Providing top quality treatments for clients, maintaining a loyal satisfied clientele
  • Completing administrative duties as directed
  • Fully trained and comfortable in all treatments offered in clinic
  • Meeting sales targets consistently
  • Provide the highest quality of treatments and customer service to Clients
  • Achieving individual sales targets in terms of treatment courses and products
  • Taking part in smooth running of treatment rooms, including cleaning duties, towels, maintenance of
  • Equipment etc., assisting with stock orders, cleaning, opening and closing rooms as per agreed clinic procedures.
  • Make yourself available to answer questions from other therapists regarding treatments, and to train others where necessary as agreed with Clinic Manager.
  • Have the ability to consider new treatments and treatment combinations for clinic, communicating ideas to Clinic Manager.
  • Act and behave as a role model.
  • Use the time efficiently- arrive at work on time, deliver high standard treatment within the time frame.

 

Presentation standards:

 

  • Complete Uniform and name badge must be worn at all times at work. Your uniform must be clean and ironed at all times. Shoes must be black, clean and polished.
  • Nails must be short.
  • Hair: hair should be clean, well cared for and tidy.
  • Make up. Should look natural and fresh- no make up products should be left in the eating area. When
  • using make up from the retail area this must be returned once finished. Please do not take the make
  • up home without manager’s permission.
  • Jewellery should be removed as appropriate when doing treatments. Earrings should be small or stud
  • style and only one pair in the ear lobes.
  • Do not smoke wearing the uniform
  • Smoking: Do not smoke wearing the uniform or outside premises, mouthwash must be used following
  • smoking to minimise odour
  • Eating: Please do not eat or chew on the reception area. Food is to be eaten in the staff room in your
  • lunch hour. When eating strong food please be aware of the smell, keep the staff/kitchen door closed.
  • Equipment maintenance
  • Handle equipment with care
  • Report any faults or equipment damage immediately to the Clinic Manager
  • Perform weekly and daily checks to prevent unnecessary disruptions
  • Equipment log book should be attached to the equipment and signed at the end of each treatment.

 

 

Wastage  – We maintain a policy of minimum waste; unnecessary use of products must be avoided.

Documentation- all files must contain the following information, and it is the Therapist’s responsibility to ensure these are completed prior to treatment.

 

  • Medical information
  • Courses record
  • Consent forms
  • Daily consent form
  • Before and after photo

 

Medical form —this is the form that the clients will complete and sign on their first visit

 

Courses record – this should be completed to ensure a correct record of the treatment number

 

Treatments record — this form requires detailed description of the treatment performed including settings and pulses or kj applied. Description of the treatment, must be made following each treatment

Consent forms- Treatments consent form must be signed prior each treatment – a copy of the consent form must be given to the clients to take home

 

Daily consent form– must be signed prior each treatment

 

Photos  —      photo must be taken prior first treatment

2nd     photo – half way through the course

3rd photo – the end of the course of treatments.

 

Patch tests requirements–  IPL and Lasers- treatments must not be performed without a patch test. Patch test must be done prior increasing the settings.

Protective eyewear –  Eye shields and goggles must be used by both the therapists and clients when performing Lasers, IPL and LED treatments.

Sharps and needles — a sharp box must be available in each room. Correct disposable of the needles and sharps must be followed- please refer to sharps policy

Derma roller and Derma stamp – new derma roller or derma stamp must be used for each treatment. Once used please follow the correct disposal protocol.

Gloves: gloves must be used when performing face treatments.

In house training: always wear full uniform- be on time.

Case studies – you will be required to complete a case study following your initial training with IPL and Lasers. Training  feedback: must be completed at the end of your training session

 

Commission and Incentives

You have the opportunity to earn additional income above your basic salary, The incentives are as follows:

 

Course sales Bonus 3-5%

 

Your target is £15,000 a month, on which you will earn commission of 4%

Anything below £15,000 will have commission of 3%

Anything above £15,000 will have commission of 5%

 

The target will change as business and therapists’ team grows and team targets may be introduced later.

 

Product sales Bonus 4-5% (on all products)

 

Your personal target is £2000 a month, on which you will earn commission of 4%

Anything below £2000 will have commission of 3%

Anything above £2000 will have commission of 5%

 

The target will change as business and therapists’ team grows and team targets may be introduced later.

 

Free Product when meeting sales target

 

Your personal target is £2000 or more a month

When you hit this target you will receive products to the value of 4% of this value (at retail price)

You can transfer the value over to upcoming months if you are saving up for a higher value product.
